We’re looking for a dedicated ESG / GRESB Consultant to help our clients navigate the evolving landscape of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) programs and performance, with a specific focus on GRESB (Global ESG Benchmark for Real Assets) reporting and certification.

As an ESG / GRESB Consultant at BranchPattern, you will be at the forefront of helping real estate owners and operators assess, report, and improve their ESG performance in line with global standards. This role involves providing strategic advice, technical support, and management services for GRESB assessments, sustainability certifications, and ESG-related initiativesdirectly to our clients to . You will work closely with clients to develop tailored solutions that align with their sustainability goals, improve their environmental impact, and position them for success in the global real estate market. This is a client-facing position which requires superior communication, writing, and presentation skills.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation, submission, and ongoing management of GRESB assessments for real estate portfolios and individual assets. Work closely with clients to develop GRESB-related strategies that enhance their ESG performance and increase their ratings.
  • Provide expert guidance on ESG best practices, including energy efficiency, waste reduction, social impact, governance structures, and corporate responsibility. Advise clients on how to integrate ESG considerations into their overall business and operational strategies.
  • Oversee the collection, analysis, and validation of data required for GRESB assessments and other ESG-related reporting. Ensure the accuracy and completeness of data for sustainability performance indicators.
  • Support clients in obtaining and maintaining relevant sustainability certifications (e.g., LEED, BREEAM, WELL, Fitwel) by identifying opportunities for improvement and guiding them through the certification process, in collaboration with our internal staff.
  • Coordinate additional supporting services as required and informed by client goals. Assist with consultant procurement and evaluations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including clients, sustainability teams, building management, and industry partners.
  • Stay informed on evolving ESG regulations, industry standards, and market trends. Provide thought leadership and updates to clients on emerging ESG issues, reporting frameworks, and regulatory changes.
  • Assess ESG risks and opportunities within client portfolios and individual assets. Provide strategic recommendations to improve sustainability performance, reduce environmental impacts, and manage risks.
  • Develop and deliver training programs and workshops for clients and their teams on ESG best practices, GRESB reporting, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Assist in the preparation of ESG reports, presentations, and other communication materials for clients, senior leadership, and external stakeholders.

 

 Qualified candidates ideally possess

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business Administration, Engineering, Real Estate, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in ESG consulting, GRESB reporting, or sustainability management within the real estate, construction, or related industries.
  • GRESB-related certificationsprofessional credentials, GRESB AP, LEED AP, BREEAM Assessor, or other sustainability certifications are highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with GRESB assessments, ESG data collection methodologies, or other sustainability reporting standards (e.g. CDP, GRI, INREV, SASB, SFDR, TCFD, UNPRI), and energy performance measurement..
  • Experience working with green building certifications (LEED, WELL, Fitwel, BREEAM, IREM, etc).
  • Strong understanding of ESG factors in the built environment, including energy, water, waste, social responsibility, governance, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience in managing multiple projects, ensuring client satisfaction, and meeting deadlines.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders, present complex information, and prepare clear and concise reports.
  • Ability to lead meetings and give presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on identifying sustainable solutions that add value and support business objectives.
