We are looking for a Staff Engineer, Stack Engineering (Fuel Cell Stack Design Engineer) to join our team in one of today’s most exciting technologies.

Location: San Jose, CA. This is a fully on-site, in office role.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Explore and evaluate new material, manufacturing methods, and metrology on critical components to achieve aggressive cost target
  • Design and execute hand-on experiments and tests to determine feasibility of different manufacturing methods to meet yield and performance requirements.
  • Technical supplier evaluation/selection and management for development and collaboration with internal production team for mass production readiness
  • Work with cross-functional team for critical component production qualifications including design, analysis of experiments, specification development and lifecycle management
  • Characterize and document engineering issues, and lead problem solving activities

Skills and Experience:

  • Ph.D. with minimum 2 years or Master’s degree with minimum 5 years of industrial engineering experience in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Material Science preferred
  • Experience in high temperature (>500 C) metal alloy metal is required
  • Hands-on experience in engineering testing, or lab experiments required
  • Experience/knowledge in Solid Oxide Fuel Cell components is preferred
  • Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to be creative, versatile, efficient and productive with minimal supervision or guidance
  • Strong self-starter and team player with a can-do attitude
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills

$130,400.00 - $187,600.00
