We are looking for an NPI Process Engineering Intern to join our team in one of today’s most exciting technologies. This role will report to the Director of Development Engineering and based in Fremont, CA. This is a fully on-site, in office role.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct experiments for product development and support prototype builds.
  • Develop and execute test plans to qualify new processes, inspection and measurement systems and present data and results to Technical teams.
  • Implement DOEs and support data collection and analysis to help establish process windows, create specifications, enhance manufacturability, improve yield and qualify vendors.
  • Create work instructions and other associated process documentation to facilitate process transfers to Manufacturing.
  • Train other technicians on new processes as needed to support higher volumes in manufacturing.
  • Work with manager or other engineers on team to conduct Root-cause analysis, troubleshoot yield and/or process excursions and provide failure analysis support.


Skills and Experience:

  • BS or MS in Chemical or Materials Science Engineering
  • Must be a junior or senior graduating by Summer 2026
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Skills to work effectively within teams, and/or independently in a fast paced environment
  • Prior experience working in a Lab environment performing careful experimentation, data analysis, and troubleshooting and root cause analysis is highly desirable.
  • Strong problem solving skills to resolve build, design or process issues
  • Formal DOE experience and use of tools like JMP for design and data analysis is a plus
  • This internship is scheduled to begin June 2025 and end approximately August 2025.
