Job Description
Under general direction, the successful candidate will perform guided lab-scale experiments to characterize and develop EnPower’s electrode architecture and materials. This candidate will work with a cross-functional team in a rapid-paced and iterative environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Build coin cells to analyze electrodes electrochemical performance, for example, charge/discharge rate capacity and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS).
Process datasets using analytical software and programming languages such as Python.
Work cross-functionally with cell development team to optimize anode, cathode and separator performance for specific customer applications.
Characterize slurries using pH probe, surface tension, and conductivity meters.
Characterize electrode coatings using 4-point probes, SEM analysis, optical microscope, mandril test, and peel test.
Complete lab-scale mixing, coating, and calendaring experiments.
Self-starter with the ability to take initiatives, exercise judgment, and work independently.
Ability to thrive under time pressures while naturally embracing changing priorities.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or materials science
Experience working in a wet lab environment
Detailed work ethic, close attention to detail, and precise communication
Prior experience in making and testing coin cells preferred
Experience working with lab-scale battery testing preferred
Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and perform the following for extended periods of time:
Standing or sitting
Climbing/squatting/walking
Repetitive motions and lifting
