Position Overview:
Solid Power, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer to join our talented team working to revolutionize the battery industry through the development of next-generation, all solid-state rechargeable batteries. This position will be a key member of powder production team for the transition of Solid Powerβs current electrolyte production technology to mass production. The Project Engineer will be responsible for kickoff, design, specification, and delivery of new projects. This individual will work through conceptual design to the delivery and validation of new processes.
Job Duties:
- Support new projects from the design through the delivery of new production areas
- Develop user requirements, designs, equipment specification, procurement, install, commissioning, qualification, and turn-over to manufacturing
- Manage engineering firms and contractor schedules and budget on small to large capital projects
- Organize, prioritize, and delegate tasks and deliverables for the project team
- Support the FAT/SAT, installation, and startup of new equipment
- Review and ensure that installations meet all requirements in NEC, ASME, and ASTM standards
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelorβs degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering
- 5+ years of industry experience in the materials production environment
- Experience of installation, commissioning, refining equipment, and specification review
- Knowledge of NEC, ASME, and ASTM standards
- Design of new equipment under a commercial powder production environment is a plus
- Analytical skills for troubleshooting materials production equipment problems
- Interpersonal skills in developing positive working relations to interface well with other engineers, scientists, and operations personnel
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, electrical diagrams, P&IDs, and general arrangement drawings is a plus
Salary Range: $105,000 - $150,000/year
