Job Brief

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Director of Execution to lead and oversee key aspects of our plant execution including the overall coordination and leadership of Twelve’s functions, and managing/ overseeing the performance of our Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractors teams. The Senior Director of Execution will work closely with the operations, procurement, engineering, project controls, construction as well as with external EPC partners.  

The top candidates will have a strong background in hydrocarbon and complex plant execution (i.e, refineries, naphtha treatment plants, jet fuel, etc) and the processes required to build a safe, reliable and operable asset.

 

What you will do

  • Champion our culture of Safety by ensuring ongoing compliance with health and safety regulations at Twelve’s construction site. Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize the impact on the plant and personnel. 
  • Support scope development, support defining the scope, develop and planning field (site) planning, construction work areas and packages, and developing project/ cross functional management  processes to deliver optimal results in an increasingly complex business environment while identifying new opportunities to create value
  • Using defined project objectives, unify all construction interdependencies and project components, create KPIs, scope required work and manage functional teams for a single Integrated Project Execution Plan to deliver optimal results in an increasingly complex business environment. 
  • Demonstrate sound decision-making with a strong focus on iterative improvements for safety, cost management and creating continuous alignment with integrated team members, internal and external stakeholders and business partners (e.g., licensors, engineering and procurement contractors, partners, constructors, etc).
  • Support the management of vendors, fabricators, module assembler(s) and construction contractors to deliver to their β€œtechnical” and commercial contractual obligations as well as develop and implement quality assurance programs from design through build. Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions, and monitor contractor performance.
  • Plan, organize, manage and communicate transparently to build a highly engaged team and create an environment where people are inspired to follow your lead. 
  • Work remotely with many groups and contractors (each with different priorities / motivators), potentially different time zones and ultimately be able to promote aligning in achieving the project/ partnership objectives. 
  • Present regular progress reports to functional and senior management, providing progress and forecasting of completion of the Asset, milestones, risks, and issues. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop solutions and make informed decisions to keep the plant development teams on track.
  • Work with the engineering, project controls, supply chain and construction directors to develop project budgets to ensure effective cost and schedule control and resource allocation. Monitor project cash flow, scheduling and progress, productivity while identifying cost-saving opportunities, and adhering to a strong management of change process.

 

Who you are

  • 20+ years of Execution Management of hydrocarbon Plants (i.e., refineries, naphtha, syngas plants, jetfuel) or have executed more than 4 complex projects from Pre-FEED through the commissioning and start-up, and/or construction management work experience demonstrating increasing responsibility on complex projects. 
  • You have demonstrated sound decision-making while coordinating very complex project interdependencies, developing comprehensive execution plans with clearly defined objectives, milestones, and timelines.
  • Experience in early- stage development on diverse projects, varying in size, front-end development of scope and complexity, modularization and construction. Being able to anticipate what will be required in the next project life cycle. 
  • Proven track record of leading and overseeing the execution of a plant using strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
  • Very skilled in the performance management of EPC contractors and licensors. Sound experience in development of scope of works to support the award of modules and construction contracts. This experience is supported by a strong knowledge of turnover processes, support to C&SU (incl. the PSSR process) processes. 
  • Demonstrates self-awareness and authenticity, and develops people by setting clear expectations, providing constructive feedback and coaching to achieve higher levels of performance.
  • Strong knowledge of hydrocarbon plant construction processes and risk management strategies.

A range for the included position is listed below. Be advised, actual offer details are determined by job category, job location, and candidate skill level. 
 
United States Wage Range: $212,000 - $265,000
 
Please note that some pay bands may have wide ranges of compensation to accommodate candidate's diverse sets of skill levels.
