About This Position

The Owner's Representative will oversee Lumina/Lumina II and will manage the operations and maintenance (O&M) activities for our utility-scale solar PV and BESS projects within ERCOT. This role involves ensuring optimal safety, performance, reliability, and efficiency of company assets while acting as the primary liaison between the company, project operators, local contractors and local community. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership, and strong communication skills. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in solar PV and BESS operations, project management, and stakeholder communication and relationship management.


Overview of Department

The Operations Team is currently composed of eleven team members in Operations, Compliance, and Asset Management roles. Our Operations department ensures that our renewable energy assets are operated to the highest standards and is responsible for project operations, asset management, operational compliance and operational technology, as well as supporting the rest of the company in the delivery of future portfolios of projects.


Please note this specific posting is for our Lumina sites in Scurry County, TX (ERCOT). This role will be based on site.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Manage and supervise all O&M activities for projects in the region, ensuring compliance with company policies, contractual obligations, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Conduct regular site inspections and assessments to identify and address potential issues proactively
  • Manage and monitor warranty and other remediation activities in a timely and efficient manner
  • Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance plans in conjunction with 3rd party O&M to ensure the reliability and longevity of solar PV systems
  • Coordinate with 3rd party O&M teams and external contractors for scheduled maintenance, repairs, and upgrades
  • Monitor spare parts inventory and procurement to minimize downtime and ensure timely repairs
  • Act as the primary point of contact between the owner and other stakeholders, addressing inquiries, concerns, and providing updates on project status
  • Facilitate effective communication and coordination with local authorities, regulatory agencies, and community representatives
  • Ensure all operations are conducted in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Collaborate closely with the company’s land, development, community engagement and health, safety and environment teams on all relevant matters  
  • Facilitate clear and effective communication to executives regarding project status, maintenance issues, and project performance
  • Maintain a current knowledge of applicable technology, troubleshooting techniques, and repair procedures
  • Manage on site warranty response
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Advanced degrees or certifications in solar PV systems are a plus. Or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in operations and maintenance of utility-scale solar PV projects
  • 2+ years of BESS operation experience is desired
  • Strong knowledge of solar PV technology, system design, and operational best practices
  • Proven experience in project management, with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with various stakeholders
  • Ability to travel regularly within the region and work in diverse environmental conditions
  • Maintain and file accurate documentation and reports
  • Must be stakeholder facing and willing to chase problems to completion 
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Google suite, Microsoft suite, Slack and other collaboration tools
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills are key
  • Able to thrive in a remote environment

Physical and Sensory Requirements
  • Team weeks with the team: 4 weeks per year
  • Travel to site: Daily
  • Regional travel required with occasional overnight stays.
  • Ability to operate a company vehicle. Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a clean driving record.

  • Salary: $130,000 USD to $140,000 USD base salary with 25-30% annual target bonus
