Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Analyst to develop and maintain financial analysis tools to help the Company make informed and intelligent decisions about energy storage project development, investment and financing opportunities. The Senior Financial Analyst will report to the company’s VP of Investment Strategy & Analytics. 

Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain complex financial models to evaluate energy storage projects and investment opportunities:
  • Develop detailed financial forecasts for energy storage projects, including assessing capital costs, revenues, operating expenses, and debt, equity and tax equity financing.
  • Assemble supporting data and evidentiary sources for all key assumptions included in financial models and forecasts.
  • Develop and analyze scenarios to quantify and assess downside risks and upside opportunities for storage project investments.
  • Prepare reports and projections summarizing financial modelling results and learnings to assist the company’s decision-making process.
  • Critically analyze model results and evaluate and make recommendations to optimize project and investment performance, including with respect to optimizing financial structure, revenue generation, and cost competitiveness.
  • Assist the Company with financing and capital raising for its energy storage projects and corporate portfolio, including by providing financial forecasts and analysis to inform potential investors or investment risks and returns.
  • Research and digest energy industry fundamentals and trends to anticipate and identify new threats and/or opportunities for investment or for improvement.
  • Assess performance of the company’s projects versus prior expectations and incorporate learnings and observations into new forecasts to ensure continuous improvement.

Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance is required. Master’s degree in finance, business or a related field is a plus.
  • Three or more years of experience in financial analysis, with demonstrated understanding of the renewable energy sector strongly preferred.
  • High degree of curiosity, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding financial modelling proficiency, including Microsoft Excel skills, and ability to assemble, understand and manage data, and perform complex financial and analytical computations.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to clearly communicate complex financial ideas to all levels of management.
  • Ability to perform all aspects of work with a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, effectiveness, and efficiency.
  • Team player and can collaborate with others across the organization.
Compensation
The anticipated annual salary plus bonus for this position is listed below. The actual salary and bonus offered will depend on the specific skills and experience of the selected candidate.

Location
  • Flexible, option to work-from-home with periodic office visits for in-person engagement or to work from company offices in Newport Beach. For work-from-home option, must have a dedicated workspace and strong internet connectivity.
  • Requires ability to travel to company offices, project sites and business meetings as needed.
