Job Summary
Plan and design natural gas distribution facilities in accordance with applicable codes, regulations and industry standards. Provide technical expertise and support to all internal departments and outside agencies including customers, contractors, state and local officials and engineering firms. Responsible for securing all necessary permits, easements and right of ways as well as the specification of materials and procedures. Plan current and future system requirements for expansion, reinforcement and replacement to ensure system adequacy, reliability and safety. Prepare cost estimates, monitor and evaluate current expenditures and prepare forecasts of current and future budget needs. Provide supervision during construction to ensure design standards are followed. Provide quantitative analysis for various engineering purposes such as actual project cost vs estimate, or capital budget spend analysis. Be able to draw conclusions from these quantitative analyses and put forth recommendations if needed. Ability to prepare and deliver presentations of results/findings in a clear and effective manner. Prepare designs and cost estimates for simple projects as needed.

Education & Experience Required:
Bachelorβs degree in mechanical or civil engineering or related field of study with a minimum of five (5) years relevant experience required. Experience in piping design, metering and regulating principles. Knowledge of corrosion control techniques, gas system construction practices, underground pipe locating, map reading and blue print reading. Knowledge of state and Federal pipeline safety regulations.
