Energy Solutions is hiring a research and analysis champion who thrives on creating positive environmental impact through collecting, analyzing, and presenting quantitative and qualitative research on national energy management initiatives, developments, and trends, including Energy Solutions’ offerings and those of our competitors. The Research and Analysis Manager will play a pivotal role in defining the analysis of both internal and researched data, ultimately driving the success and scope of our environmental impact.  

The Research and Analysis (R&A) Manager leads the R&A team, including supervision of the Market Research Associate, and reports directly to the Vice President of the Growth Management and Strategy department. On a daily basis, the R&A Manager contributes individual research and organizes internal companywide metrics and analyses and directs the efforts of the Market Research Associate, who primarily focuses on market and client research. Additionally, this role ideates new research and collaborations, supports the R&A team’s continued education and training, and incorporates R&A team findings into competitive proposals and client engagements. This role supports companywide consistency by collaborating internal stakeholders including Managers, Directors, and Vice Presidents in the following teams: Growth Management & Strategy, Business Development, Business Strategy, Operations, Emerging Tech, Energy Efficiency, Engineering, Distributed Energy Resources, and Policy & Ratings.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Manage the Research and Analysis Team’s workload and prioritize activities to ensure delivery of high-quality deliverables to meet internal and external deadlines 
  • Provide guidance, performance feedback, and mentorship for a team of proven performers 
  • Review processes and procedures, identifying opportunities for improvement 
  • Develop a strong understanding of Energy Solutions’ products and services to effectively respond to both internal and external client requests for content revision or clarification 
  • Analyze Energy Solutions’ market to inform business development and opportunities for expansion  
  • Maintain a central repository of Energy Solutions’ internal metrics for the purposes of marketing and business development 
  • Foster collaboration and communication among data teams and business development teams across the company 
  • Synthesize complex information into concise and clear content for internal distribution for a variety of stakeholders using reports and dashboards in Salesforce, Tableau, and Excel 
  • Advise internal and external clients and advocate on behalf of clients to more senior management, identifying approaches that meet clients’ needs as well as those of the organization 
  • Contribute content for competitive client proposals. 
  • Provide support to drive account management plans and strategy 

 

 

Minimum qualifications: 

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, energy and environmental science, or a related field and minimum of 5 years of work experience in one or more of the following areas: energy efficiency programs, demand response, distributed generation, utility program implementation and design 
  • Advanced understanding of the energy efficiency industry and regulatory environment, consulting, and project management 
  • Strong technical written and verbal communication skills  
  • Excellent computer and database skills, especially Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Experience with Slack, SharePoint, Salesforce, and Tableau a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct detailed technical and quantitative analysis  
  • Demonstrated ability to interact professionally with clients and to serve as a point of contact for clients or subcontractors on projects  
  • Excellent personal accountability and quality control practices 
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment either in person or remotely 
  • Strong work ethic, including willingness and ability to work extra hours as requested 
  • Motivated and dedicated to achieving results individually and in a team environment 

 

Salary DOE: $75,000 to $90,000/Annually
