Job Description

  • Perform all procurement and contracting activities including pre-qualification, tender management, negotiation and preparation of contracts.
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to improve business, and promote Acciona brand.
  • Assess requirements of the Project and manage the overall direction and coordination of the RFP process.
  • Analysis and evaluation of quotations and specifications received.
  • Advise project team of critical information, such as specification changes, delivery status, price changes, etc.
  • Determine or negotiate contract terms and conditions, award supplier contracts, or recommend contract awards.
  • Research and understand local markets and business conditions.
  • Track and report key functional metrics to improve effectiveness.
  • Prepare daily, weekly and monthly procurement reports.
  • Identify areas for improvement to continually drive performance and business results.
  • May hire, train or supervise procurement personnel.
  • May perform other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • In depth knowledge of the RFP process, contracts, and negotiation terms.
  • Outstanding negotiating skills.
  • Ensuring compliance with Supply Chain vendor accreditation process.
  • Oriented towards the internal/external customer.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Superb communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.

Special Conditions

  • Required to travel within Canada and elsewhere as directed.
  • Position is part of an international Corporation working across Canada and positions/individuals are subject to possible relocation within Canada.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • A bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Business Administration, Commerce or Economics, or Engineering.
  • A certificate in purchasing from the Purchasing Management Association of Canada (PMAC) is an asset.
  • Minimum of 5 - 10 years of work experience.
  • Experience with customer service principles and practices.
