GridStor, LLC Manager, Transmission and Interconnection Portland, OR & Abilene, TX - The company headquarters is in Portland, Oregon, but telecommuting is permissible for this position
Job Duties: Work closely with senior Interconnection and Analytics team members to oversee and manage projects related to the interconnection of large stand-alone energy storage systems, create fundamental models of wholesale power markets, support internal analysis of congestion, transmission, and revenue in relation to the firm’s utility-scale battery storage project pipeline and acquisition opportunities, and aid the organization in its strategic evaluation of investment opportunities. Manage and oversee the creation, submission, and progress of interconnection applications in multiple regional transmission systems. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including utilities and regulatory agencies, to ensure successful interconnection completion. Lead the development of fundamental modeling in Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) and select markets in North America. Develop an internal economic model to accurately reflect current and future system conditions and identify optimal sizing and siting opportunities for energy storage assets, considering energy arbitrage and ancillary services. Provide market intelligence and monitor relevant transmission, generation, load forecasts, and system conditions for the markets of interest. Develop revenue forecasts for the company’s portfolio and sites of interest based on internal production cost models. Collaborate and assist the Development and M&A teams to advance project and market development and acquisition opportunities. Generate and present modeling and analysis results to senior management and stakeholders as needed.
Position requires two to four weeks of domestic and international travel per year.
Requirements: Applicant must have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, or related field and 5 years of experience in the energy industry as a Developer, Engineer, Independent Power Producer, Consultant, Independent System Operator, Analyst, or related, or, alternatively, a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field and 3 years of experience in the energy industry as a Developer, Engineer, Independent Power Producer, Consultant, Independent System Operator, Analyst, or related. Experience must include:
Two (2) years of experience performing optimization and quantitative analytics, power systems analysis, and production cost modeling
Two (2) years of experience in transmission planning and congestion analysis and performing research within Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) and other energy markets.
