Summary/Primary Role:

Brightcore Energy is seeking a dynamic and experienced Human Resources Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in HR management, with a strong focus on employee relations, performance management, learning and development, talent management, and compliance. The Human Resources Manager will play a key role in supporting our mission by fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture while ensuring compliance with all regulations. This individual must have strong attention to detail, be assertive, and have a strong sense of urgency. The position will report to the VP of Human Resources.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to business leaders on all HR-related matters, including talent management, employee relations, performance management, and organizational development.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to identify and address HR needs and challenges, developing solutions that drive business results and enhance organizational effectiveness.
  • Lead employee relations initiatives, including conflict resolution, performance improvement plans, and disciplinary actions.
  • Oversee performance management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, and career development planning.
  • Develop and implement learning and development programs to enhance employee skills and capabilities, including training, workshops, and coaching sessions.
  • Implement talent management strategies to attract, retain, and develop top talent within the organization.
  • Drive employee engagement and retention initiatives, including employee feedback surveys, action planning, and recognition programs, to create a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including DOT requirements.
  • Administer and maintain HRIS systems, including Greenhouse ATS and Cornerstone LMS, to support recruitment, training, and development initiatives.
  • Conduct training sessions on HR-related topics, including diversity and inclusion, harassment prevention, and safety awareness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive HR initiatives and projects that support organizational goals and objectives.
  • Prepare and analyze HR metrics and reports to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Supervise payroll operations, including thorough review and approval of timecards to ensure accuracy and compliance with policies and regulations.
  • In conjunction with Finance, review weekly Certified Payroll and sign off as needed.
  • Provide strategic guidance and support to senior leadership on HR-related matters.
  • Manage the DOT CDL program, overseeing pre-hire processes, random administration, and maintaining safety records.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in human resources management
  • SPHR or SHRM certification preferred.
  • Experience with DOT regulations and compliance preferred.
  • Proficiency in Greenhouse ATS and Cornerstone LMS preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations, including EEO, ADA, FMLA, and FLSA.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence others at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.

Supervisory Responsibility: 

This position does not have supervisory responsibility.

Expected Hours of Work: 

An Employee must work a minimum of thirty (30) hours each week to maintain full-time status for benefits purposes, however the expectations of the position will require an average of forty (40) hours with overtime required as scheduled. The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. When determining an employee’s base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, and internal equity). Brightcore also offers a comprehensive set of benefits to complement the base salary. The base salary hiring range for this position is $100,000.00-$125,000.00 per year with the potential of an annual discretionary bonus.

Travel Requirements:  

  • Up to 15% of travel within the Northeast of the United States.
