ACCIONA Construction USA, part of the SR 400 Peach Partners consortium, have been awarded the contract to design and construct the SR 400 Express Lanes project in Atlanta, Georgia. This $4.6 billion project, awarded by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT), is a key public-private partnership aimed at addressing congestion on a major highway in the Atlanta metropolitan area.

The Lead Project Scheduler will be responsible for program, resource analysis, and functional integration, forecast and trend analysis on major design and engineering projects. The incumbent will develop and maintain project master schedules, complete with resource loading, working closely with assistant project planner(s) and other Project Team engineering members to ensure accurate and timely reporting of work progress, earned value analysis and performance factor calculation.

Job Description

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, resources, and budgets.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define project objectives and requirements.
  • Create and maintain detailed project schedules using industry-standard software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
  • Analyze and optimize schedules to ensure timely completion of project milestones and deliverables.
  • Identify and allocate resources, including labor, equipment, and materials, to meet project requirements.
  • Monitor resource utilization and adjust plans as necessary to address any resource constraints or issues.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize their impact on project timelines and objectives.
  • Monitor and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle, adjusting plans as needed.
  • Track project progress against the schedule and budget, providing regular updates to project managers and stakeholders.
  • Implement performance metrics and reporting systems to evaluate project performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination between project teams, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Ensure that all project documentation, including plans, schedules, and reports, is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Manage change control processes, including the evaluation of change requests and their impact on project schedules and resources.
  • Update project plans and schedules to reflect approved changes.
  • Ensure that planning and scheduling processes adhere to industry best practices and quality standards.
  • Conduct periodic reviews and audits of project plans and schedules to identify and implement improvements.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of P3 civil roads and buildings construction engineering process.
  • In-depth knowledge of project management/scheduling software primavera and MS Project.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to work in a fast paced, highly complex environment.
  • Able to multitask and work on several projects at the same time.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
  • 15+ years of proven experience in planning and scheduling of major civil infrastructure projects of more than 550M~$.
