Job Description

We are looking for an Industrial Decarbonization Research Analyst to join Energetics to deliver data-related research for industrial energy and emissions analysis to the Department of Energy (DOE)!

Ideal candidates have research and development experience related to metals, cement, chemicals, refining, or electronics manufacturing and are interested in shaping the next generation technology and strategies for industrial decarbonization in the United States. Qualified candidates will support the DOE’s Industrial Efficiency and Decarbonization Office (IEDO) and Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Office (AMMTO) with analysis, research, reporting and R&D program support.

As part of your work, you’ll gain knowledge about cutting-edge technologies, trends, and policies in the manufacturing sector and contribute to foundational analysis and reporting.

In this role you will…

  • Support analysis product delivery through task management, analysis and R&D planning, impact assessment, reporting, inter-team and external relations

  • Have a strong understanding and application of project management principles, concepts, practices, and standards to coordinate and manage broad analysis projects

  • Expert insights and advisement on market opportunities and R&D technology research, including synthesizing technical information for various audiences, including client vision and goals

  • Be a student of emerging technologies and the R&D space relating to energy efficiency and/or decarbonization, including R&D data collection and management, project-level and program-level 

  • Prepare and present technology and programmatic reports, presentations and briefings

Exciting candidates have… 

  • Doctoral degree with 6+ years of analysis project management experience; Analysis-based project and/or program management experience a must

  • Proficient in database development and programming languages (Python, C#, C++, etc.)

  • An affinity for shaping the next generation technology and strategies for industrial decarbonization

  • Energy/Emissions forecasting and experience in energy efficiency and decarbonization with a working knowledge of industrial energy systems and associated markets, industrial processes, policies, and regulations

  • Excellent writing and interpersonal communication skills; with a high degree of professionalism, curiosity, and ethical conduct 

  • Experience in government consulting, supporting government organizations, public-private partnerships, or stakeholder engagement a plus

Target Compensation:
$100,000 - $125,000 / year

Compensation Range

$91,100.00 - $136,700.00

Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data/ranges, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications (e.g. JD/technology), for example.
