A Controller responsible for overseeing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and managing accounting processes for the SR400 Express Lanes PPP Project. In addition, this person will be responsible for maintaining financial integrity, compliance with regulations, and supporting strategic decision-making.

Job Description

Financial Reporting and Analysis

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement).
  • Analyze financial data to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial reports.
  • Provide financial analysis to management to support decision-making and business strategy.
  • Oversee and manage the company’s financial forecasting and budgeting processes.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process, ensuring accurate projections for income, expenses, and capital requirements.
  • Provide regular financial forecasts to identify potential risks or issues in meeting the company’s financial goals.
  • Monitor departmental and organizational budget adherence and recommend corrective actions.

Accounting Management

  • Supervise the day-to-day activities of the accounting department, ensuring proper accounting procedures and compliance with accounting standards (GAAP or IFRS).
  • Oversee the preparation of journals, ledgers, and other financial documentation.
  • Ensure the timely processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Reconcile accounts to ensure the accuracy of records.

Cash Flow and Treasury Management

  • Manage cash flow by monitoring receivables, payables, and banking transactions.
  • Develop and implement strategies for optimizing liquidity and managing financial risk.

Tax Planning and Compliance

  • Oversee tax preparation and filing, ensuring the company complies with all federal, state, and local tax laws.
  • Collaborate with tax advisors to identify tax-saving opportunities and optimize the company's tax position.
  • Ensure the preparation and submission of tax returns in a timely and accurate manner.

Cost Management

  • Monitor and control costs across the organization.
  • Conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies between actual and budgeted expenses and income.
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives to improve profitability and reduce unnecessary expenditures.

Stakeholder Reporting and Communication

  • Communicate financial information effectively to CFO and shareholders
  • Prepare presentations for management meetings to explain financial performance and projections.
  • Collaborate with external auditors, consultants, and other third parties as needed.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • At least 10 years experience developing similar responsibilities
  • Experience in accounting under USGAAP and IFRS
  • Degree from an accredited University in either Accounting or Finance
  • Advanced user of Excel and [SAP Business One] accounting software preferred
  • Knowledge and understanding of Financial Models
  • Knowledge and proficiency with MS Office
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills to identify financial issues and provide solutions
  • Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality with corporate matters and personal data
