We are looking for Electrical Engineers to join our Field Engineering & Commissioning team. You will be focused on delivering first of a kind, large-scale, modular, and mass manufactured electrolysis Plants. You will be involved in the full lifecycle of the deployment and upkeep of Electric Hydrogen's electrolysis plant, including: DFM support and feedback across teams, developing tools and instruments to improve installation, commissioning, upkeep, and operation; as well as supporting customer plant installations, start-ups, and turnarounds.
You will report to the manager of the Commissioning team working on a variety of projects focused on building and integrating first of a kind chemical process facilities. This role is remote based but with a 75% travel expectation around the United States and the amount of travel will be based on the current stage of the project cycle.
Role and Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance and engineering expertise in support of project site work
- Lead power systems equipment start up & commissioning activities including but not limited to medium voltage transformers, rectifiers, overcurrent & fault protection equipment; as well as VFDs, motor starters, and other systems
- Create concise work instructions to help inform the build, install, start-up & commissioning process
- Proactively identify schedule, cost, and technical risk items, then help identify solutions
- Provide detailed design-for-manufacturing & design-for-installation feedback to the plant & power engineering teams
- Provides contractors, customers, & vendors engineering information by answering questions and requests
- Find solutions to accelerate schedule, reduce time onsite, and decrease cost of installation and commissioning, while maintaining high degree of quality and consistency
- Coordinate with EH2 Power Systems design groups as directed by Project/Site Manager
- Coordinate and oversee the factory acceptance testing of equipment
- Create and improve the Plant Installation Plan, Plant Commissioning Plan, and Work Instructions
- Advise and support disassembly, repair, and assembly of power systems and auxiliary equipment
- Lead trouble shooting activities
Qualifications
- B.S. Electrical Engineering or Equivalent Industrial Experience
- 6+ years industry experience
- 6+ years Experience working with medium voltage power systems
- Experience working on chemical or power generation plant is a preference. Experience working during turnarounds and outages or installation and startup of plants is a preference
- Experience commissioning transformers, rectifiers, VFD's, MCC's, or other electrical equipment
- Has developed installation, commissioning, or deployment procedures/processes
- Experience working with outside vendors, contractors, and officials
- Worked on projects that involve coordinating between interdisciplinary teams and technical communication
