Job Description:

The Regis University Student Government Association (RUSGA) Executive Cabinet and Broader Cabinet, pending the approved budget, will be department funded. Each position will be hired and paid according to the University and State policy. Students are expected to work no more than 6 hours per week.

All members of the Executive Cabinet shall:  

  • Serve a one-year term from April to April.  

  • Strive to develop collaborative partnerships within Student Government and with the broader University community and administration.  

  • Ensure that Student Senate is accountable to the Constitution of the Regis University Student Government Association (RUSGA) and to the policies and procedures of Regis University.  

  • Attend weekly meetings of the Executive Cabinet leadership team and regular meetings of the RUSGA Senate.  

  • Be and remain a student in good standing with the university. Good standing, for these purposes includes being in favorable standing financially, without Community Standards sanctions of probation or higher, and of academic standing possessing at least a 3.0 GPA.  

 

Director of Sustainability  

Specific Responsibilities:  

  • Work in collaboration with University departments, student clubs, and organizations on sustainability initiatives and programs.  

  • Oversees and works in conjunction with the Chief Officer of the Sustainability Agency. This includes ensuring presence and attendance at Sustainability Agency and other affiliated clubs and organization’s meetings, programs, etc.  

  • Responsibly lead a budget of allocated funds for sustainability policy and projects in collaboration with the Chief Officer of the Sustainability Agency and Senate Sustainability Representative.  

  • Meet regularly with staff and leadership of Regis University Physical Plant department to discuss and monitor progress on sustainability initiatives.  

  • Attend weekly meetings of the Executive Cabinet leadership team.  

  • Create and maintain sustainability reports to be shared with the Executive Cabinet, student body, offices and departments, and University leadership.  

  • Works closely with the Executive Cabinet Officers, board members, and organizational staff on implementing programs and policies on sustainability. 

  • Develops and implements policy work on sustainability and encourages the student body to get engaged with environmentalism, globalism, and local sustainability values. This may be accomplished through connection with the First Year Experience (FYE) with an education-focus on Laudato Si initiatives.  

  • Ensures transparent communication between all sustainability groups, organizations, and departments within the University.  

  • Engage with the Regis student community by regularly attending each semester of the RUSGA term: University sports games, department programs, clubs and organization events, diversity, equity and inclusivity (DEI) programs, student elections, University sponsored events and RUSGA programs. This shall be a mandatory requirement for student engagement and consideration for all RUSGA executive cabinet officers. 

Benefits-eligible for workers’ compensation and will receive 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 48 hours per year.
