We are looking for a Business Operations Intern to join the Business Operations Team. This qualified individual would work under the guidance of the VP of Business Operations to provide operations and project development support for our portfolio of utility-scale standalone storage projects within designated regions of North America. The Business Operations intern will support the tracking of key project information across Plus Power’s diverse project portfolio and Strategic Siting Bank, maintain KPI dashboards and reports, and assist company leaders to prepare standard operating procedures building on the standardized Plus Power Project Development Lifecycle. The intern will have the opportunity to shadow and assist Project Development, EPC, and Operating Company team members with site acquisition, permitting, interconnection, and revenue offtake contracting activities for various projects across the portfolio, as well gain exposure to project construction and asset management. 

This role has strong potential to convert to a full-time position, given the experience, qualification level, and performance of the individual. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Maintain and build out Plus Power’s database of project information, including development statuses across the key development pillars (real estate, permitting, transmission and interconnection, revenue offtake, and engineering/procurement/construction).  
  • Collaborate with Project Development Managers, Project Managers, and Asset Managers to track development milestones across portfolio of 60+ projects and roll up dashboard summaries for each project and the portfolio at large.  
  • Draft standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the Development Department’s processes; work collaboratively with Department Leadership to publish and maintain process documentation. 
  • Shadow and assist Project Development Managers and Associates and assist in execution of real estate, permitting, due diligence, and administrative tasks to de-risk projects 
  • Help identify and close gaps in the Development Lifecyle process.  

Skills & Qualifications 

  • Minimum BA/BS in business administration, economics, finance, or related field. 
  • Ability to effectively use the MS 365 Platform, including SharePoint, MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Outlook, PowerApps and PowerBI.  
  • Ability to turn complex ideas and ad hoc processes into concrete presentations, memorandums, and standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to work with large complex data sets, combine and clean them using PowerBI and PowerAutomate scripts, and simplify and extract trends and conclusions out of datasets.
  • Understanding of key data points and commitment to defining and tracking across Plus power’s portfolio.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a cross-functional environment with both technical and non-technical team members.
  • Interest in energy markets, renewable energy, and gaining experience in the pillars of project development.
  • Strong presentation and writing skills  
  • Relevant experience in business administration and corporate operations.  
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • English fluency is required.

Highly competitive total compensation from one of North America’s leading energy storage developers, owners and operators. Flexible, work from home or hybrid work from Plus Power’s offices in San Francisco, Houston, Chicago, Seattle, and Palm Beach.

The expected salary range* for this position begins at $TBD. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant experience, skills, qualifications, geographic labor market, and other factors consistent with applicable law. This position is also eligible to participate in our annual bonus program.
