The Bids and Tenders Manager will lead the preparation and submission of bids for infrastructure concession and Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects, covering civil, social, energy transport, and renewable sectors. This role encompasses both greenfield and brownfield projects and involves managing the acquisition of brownfield concessions. The Bids and Tenders Manager will be responsible for coordinating the entire bidding process globally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bid Coordination and Management: Lead internal and external bid teams from the perspective of the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), integrating financial, legal, technical, and sustainability aspects.
- Define key tasks and schedules to ensure timely and high-quality submission of bids. Manage and coordinate with external advisors (as needed) to achieve bid objectives.
- Risk Identification: Identify and analyze contractual risks within tender documents and provide recommendations for mitigation.
- Contract Structuring and Negotiation: Define the most suitable contractual structure for each project, ensuring it aligns with the projectβs objectives and stakeholder requirements. Lead the preparation and negotiation of contracts to secure favorable terms for the company.
- Tender Execution and Documentation: Oversee the entire tendering or transaction process, preparing the necessary reports and documents based on the type of transaction. Ensure all submissions meet the regulatory and compliance standards required for each tender.
- Stakeholder Communication: Lead communication with partners, clients, and stakeholders throughout the development of opportunities. Ensure transparent and timely communication to all relevant parties, fostering collaboration and successful project outcomes.
Required Skills and Competencies
Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong knowledge of PPP structures, concession contracts, and transaction processes in both greenfield and brownfield projects.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple bids simultaneously.
- Experience in contract negotiation, risk assessment, and management.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, legal frameworks, and sustainability practices.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- Fluency in English; other languages are a plus
- Detail-oriented and deadline-driven.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-sensitive environment.
Requirements:
- Bachelorβs degree in engineering, business, law, or a related field (Masterβs degree is a plus).
- Proven experience (10+ years) in managing bids and tenders for large-scale infrastructure projects, preferably in the concessions or PPP sector.
