Job Summary:
Reporting to the Quality lead, the Assistant Civil Quality Inspector is responsible for assisting the Civil Quality Inspector with the quality control management and civil works acceptance of large scale, solar and battery storage projects. Responsibilities include conducting routine inspections to ensure code, testing, and material compliance of services and products adhere to the standard of Repsolβs Quality Management System of solar projects as assigned by the Construction Manager, Project Manager, Civil Quality Inspector, and others as needed.
Responsibilities/Duties:
Follow the QA/QC management system at sites.
Ensure adherence to health and safety guidelines.
Use QA/QC computer programs to document quality records.
Responsible for performing all aspects of Civil inspection activities with minimum supervision.
Ensure Civil ITP stages are followed and complied.
Assist with review of IFCs and overall accuracy.
Monitor Civil operations and conduct required inspections of work to resolve quality related issues with workers and subcontractors.
Verify that all site activities comply with the quality codes and standards.
Provide appropriate feedback to management regarding QA/QC matters.
Assist with development of inspection and test programs.
Coordinate quality site inspections with all subcontractors and vendors.
Monitor the implementation of the approved site QC plan.
Inspect / review product material and testing to ensure compliance with code, standards, specifications and QCM.
Identify and control all NCR's while correcting with remedial action.
Witness post grade survey and ensure that the finish grade is to engineering specifications.
Witness density testing and ensure that daily testing documentation is in order.
Ensure all quality control documentation is compiled and completed in a timely matter meeting project deadline.
Ensure timely completion of paperwork and turnover documents are in order.
Inspect remediation processes for any civil design changes.
Minimum Qualifications
Legally authorized to work in the US for any employer.
Valid US Driver's License.
OSHA 10 Certification.
Previous experience working with Geotech reports and density testing.
Minimum of 2 years construction experience on energy related projects.
Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of quality control of Final Grade, and SWPPP.
General knowledge of USACE requirements and compliance.
OSHA 30 Certification.
One or more certifications in NICET, CCM, LEED is a plus.
Previous experience with road construction and DOT requirements.
Previous experience with PV Plant construction, Wind farm construction, Substation Construction, Concrete foundations, and Sediment basins.
Knowledge of GPS survey equipment. Trimble, Lica, and TRUpoint.
Understanding and awareness of site safety requirements by OSHA.
An ability to quickly get across the detail, when required, to develop understanding on issues.
Previous solar MV cable trenching experience.
Previous experience with SWPPP and BMPs.
