The Reservoir Engineering Intern will support Fervo Energy’s subsurface modeling and optimization to support our geothermal energy development goals. Responsibilities will include analysis of reservoir modeling and field data, collaborating with the reservoir and geology teams, frequent check-ins with their mentor, and presenting recommendations on field optimization strategies for Fervo’s enhanced geothermal projects.
Qualifications
- Advanced undergraduate or graduate in Reservoir/Petroleum Engineering or similar discipline.
- Strong background in geomechanics, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics.
- Proficiency with MS Office software
- Ability to work independently
- Willingness and ability to collaborate in a remote working environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with geothermal and/or oil and gas data and operations.
- Experience with reservoir simulators such as ResFrac, CMG, TOUGH2, etc.
- Experience with hydraulic fracture simulators such as ResFrac, GOHFER, etc.
- Experience analyzing and evaluating conventional geothermal systems.
- Experience analyzing and evaluating unconventional oil & gas systems.
- Experience with Python or other programming languages.
Location
Fervo Energy is headquartered in Houston, TX with growing office locations in Oakland, Reno, Golden, and Salt Lake City. Regular in-office presence at the Golden, Houston, or Reno office will be required.
