Description

As a leading cleantech developer, Fervo is dedicated to driving the transformation of the renewable energy industry. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented undergraduate to join our team as a Production Engineer Intern. The Production Engineer Intern will spend the summer assisting with overseeing Fervo Energy’s project assets and identifying technology opportunities to maximize power generation and cost effectiveness, through safe operations and asset management. Your contribution will play a critical role in supporting Fervo’s corporate strategy, engaging with stakeholders including vendors, outside companies, community members, and communicating and educating Fervo team members on key learnings.


In this position, you will have the opportunity to work on diverse projects that require adaptability, a multi- faceted skillset, engineering curiosity, and drive to create sustainable solutions that move us closer to a carbon-free future. You'll support the Production Engineering Team, collaborating with a variety of other functions including, but not limited to, the Completions Engineering Team, the Surface Facilities Engineering Team, and the Reservoir Engineering Team. You will be expected to bring a new perspective and contribute to the long-term growth of the company.



Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular asset monitoring of production and injection wells, identifying optimization opportunities.
  • Collaborate with adjacent disciplines, field and power plant operators, outside stakeholders and vendors to analyze well/field performance and advise on production optimization.
  • Perform analyses on production data and instruments to ensure data quality.
  • Investigate new and existing production engineering technology opportunities to maximize power generation.
  • Contribute to global industry understanding of producing an enhanced geothermal system (EGS) asset.

Qualifications

  • Junior or Senior level undergraduate; Preferred concentrations: Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • Must have taken a Production Engineering course and / or have previous experience in producing oil and gas or geothermal wells experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the basic principles of production engineering concepts, along with a capability to grasp how these integrate with other engineering teams.
  • Self-starter with a proactive attitude, capable of planning, pivoting, and executing tasks independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, along with strong organizational abilities.
  • Safety focused mindset and a values-based approach.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and Zoom. Preferred experience in PowerBI, Spotfire, etc.



Salary Description

$25-$45/hour
