About the Role

Manager, Finance and Capital Markets

LanzaJet is looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Manager to work in our Deerfield, IL office and support global commercialization efforts for its innovative Ethanol to Sustainable Jet and Diesel process technology. As a key player on the Finance & Capital Markets team, the Manager will work closely with other teams within LanzaJet, including business and project development, engineering, legal, regulatory, and accounting, while supporting all core competencies within the Finance & Capital Markets job function.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage corporate and project-level financial models to analyze performance and valuation of LanzaJet’s product offering and project pipeline
  • Assess, communicate, and document key assumptions to ensure integrity of economic models and resolve inconsistencies 
  • Manage corporate capital raising and project financing transactions through due diligence management, presentation material creation, and deal-structuring efforts
  • Summarize and draft materials clearly communicating key economic outcomes, challenges, and solutions to senior team members, shareholders, and board members
  • Collaborate with cross-functional with teams, including engineering, development, commercial, legal, and third-party consultants when managing financial transactions
  • Identify and implement process improvements throughout the organization
  • Provide coaching and development to junior members in the team
  • Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by leadership

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or engineering. MBA, CFA, or similar advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum 6+ years of relevant project finance or corporate finance experience, preferably in the energy sector
  • 6+ years of project financing, M&A, and/or transaction modeling experience
  • Working understanding of regulatory incentive, tax credit, and commodity markets
  • Demonstrate ability to understand and develop financial models in Excel
  • Understanding of key financing and project agreements, with ability to translate financing terms from transaction agreements to financial models
  • High degree of personal integrity and work ethic, with excellent discretion in handling confidential information
  • Strong project management, organizational and follow-up skills and the ability to track long and short-term projects for the LanzaJet team
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to clearly present key information to senior management and third-parties
  • Strong ability to problem solve, resolve complex issues identified from detailed knowledge and review of project characteristics, and lead succinct action plan for teams to execute
  • A self-motivated and eager learner with aptitude to grow and develop within the field
  • Team player that thrives in a cutting edge, fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
