Electrical Engineering Internship

We are seeking a highly motivated Electrical Engineering Intern to join our Surface Facilities Team, where you will actively contribute to the development, construction, and engineering of geothermal power plants. As the Electrical Engineering intern, you will work closely with our facilities engineers to support the planning and execution of various project phases. Your responsibilities will include conducting reviews of engineering deliverables, assisting in the design and optimization of surface facilities, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones are met. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the geothermal energy sector and make a meaningful impact in advancing sustainable energy solutions.

Potential Project Examples:

• Electrical System Studies: Conduct steady state or transient electrical system studies using ETAP electrical modeling software for feasibility or design considerations. 
• Equipment Specification: Develop a comprehensive specification for major electrical equipment in compliance with industry standards. Use the specification to obtain quotes and coordinate with the project team for supplier options based on quotes received.

Qualifications

• Junior or Senior actively enrolled in an undergraduate program, or any level of graduate program; 
• Understanding of electrical power systems, steady state and transient system studies.
• Fundamental knowledge of electrical apparatus common to a power generating plant.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to develop technical reports and presentations
• Self-motivated with strong desire to execute large scopes of work; ability to think critically
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Familiarity with electrical modeling software for various electrical studies.
