Job Description esVolta seeks a Senior Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager focused on supporting the company and EHS Director with 1) key company EHS initiatives, 2) construction, commissioning and operational EHS oversight and Audits and 3) EHS cultural improvements. The primary focus of the Senior EHS Manager will be field safety of esVolta personnel, contractor personnel and various stakeholders. The Senior EHS Manager will report to the company’s EHS Director.
Key Responsibilities
Support Design and implementation of world-class Environmental Management System (EMS), Safety Management System (SMS) in support of Interdependent Safety Culture.
Engage directly in oversight of EPC contractor Construction and Commissioning Efforts as EHS is concerned.
Lead Investigations workplace safety incidents and assess for continuous improvement.
Support Asset Management and Operations EHS as needed.
Work with Project Teams to Refine AHJ Training for Emergency Response.
Ensure adherence to the company’s safety, health and environmental regulatory compliance policies and procedures.
Partner with the company’s internal teams including in development, project management, engineering, construction, and operations, to prepare and implement project compliance plans and procedures.
Oversee and coordinate safety training for company employees.
Maintain in-depth knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations and requirements as applicable to the company’s business activities.
Travel to company offices and energy storage project sites to monitor job performance, identify and mitigate job hazards, conduct safety audits, and assess safety compliance (Estimate 60% travel).
Skills and Qualifications
15 or more years of safety and compliance experience, preferably in energy and at least 5 years of construction related experience.
Knowledge of local, state and federal environmental, occupational health and safety rules applicable to the electric energy industry.
Fire Department experience is preferred.
Extensive knowledge of construction and electrical hazards associated with renewable power assets.
Environmental Compliance experience focused in hazardous materials management and SWPPP
CSP, ASP, CHST or similar relevant certifications highly desired.
Ability to perform all aspects of work with a high degree of accuracy, effectiveness, and efficiency.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to uphold standards of complete discretion and confidentiality as well as exercise good judgment and integrity in day-to-day decisions.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to demonstrate attention to details and good record-keeping.
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including performing financial and analytical computations.
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to clearly communicate issues to all levels of management.
Team player and can collaborate with other teams in the organization.
Compensation and Location The anticipated annual salary plus bonus range for this position is listed below. The actual salary and bonus offered will depend on the specific skills and experience of the selected candidate.

Salary $100,000 - $130,000
Bonus 20%
This is a remote position with approximately 60% travel expectation.
