Data Engineer
As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from a wide variety of data sources. You will work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure data availability, quality, and performance. Your role will be crucial in scaling our data infrastructure to meet the growing needs of our business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines and workflows.
- Build and maintain scalable ETL processes to ingest and transform data from various sources, which could include connections via ODBC/OPC, IOT platforms etc.Β
- Ensure data quality and integrity through rigorous testing and validation.
- Support customer discussions to identify optimal data transfer approaches and options
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to support their data needs and implement analytical solutions.
- Implement data governance and security policies to protect sensitive information.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.
- Mentor junior data engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and best practices in data engineering.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelorβs or Masterβs degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
- Expertise in big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka).
- Experience with cloud platforms, specifically AWS and its data services (e.g., RedShift, S3, EMR).
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, Scala or C/C# as needed.
- Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
- Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and data security best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with real-time data processing and streaming technologies.
- Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and tools.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Developer, or similar certifications.
- Agile Methodologies: Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
