The Core Driller will be responsible for performing core drilling operations with precision and safety, ensuring accurate sampling of subsurface materials for geotechnical, environmental, and water well projects. This role requires a strong understanding of core drilling techniques, experience with various drilling equipment, and the ability to work in different terrains and conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate core drilling equipment to obtain subsurface samples for analysis.


• Perform drilling operations, including setting up equipment, positioning drilling rigs, and monitoring progress to ensure accurate and safe drilling.


• Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs on drilling equipment.


• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field supervisors to ensure drilling meets project specifications.


• Record and document drilling activities, including logging core samples, equipment usage, and daily reports.


• Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations, including site preparation and clean-up.


• Travel to job sites as required.


• Mentor and train drilling crew members on proper drilling techniques and safety practices.


• Perform any other duties assigned by Operations Manager.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Core Driller in water well drilling or geotechnical exploration.


• Knowledge of core drilling techniques, air hammers, and drilling equipment, including various rock formations and soil conditions.


• Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.


• Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate closely with other team members.


• Willingness to travel as needed, with flexibility in schedule to accommodate project timelines.


• Experience drilling in Hawaii or the Pacific region.


• CDL A (Commercial Driver�s License) preferred.

Compensation: $38 - $45 per hour, based on experience.
