Description

As a leading cleantech developer, Fervo is dedicated to driving the transformation of the renewable energy industry. The Completions Engineering Intern will analyze the design, planning, and operational execution of completion activities. The intern will work alongside the Completions design and operations team to build an understanding of ongoing operations through field-based exposure. The primary focus will be to observe and provide recommendations to the engineering team based on learnings of potential field operation efficiencies. Additional responsibility includes (but is not limited to) gathering data for ongoing operations and analyzing to provide operations and cost improvement opportunity recommendations. All while ensuring to conduct any work safely, legally, environmentally responsibly, and effectively.


Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Utilize resources available to complete specified projects assigned by the Completions team
  • Observe technical discussions and monitor operations on daily completion activities
  • Data acquisition and analysis from workover operations; DFIT/toe preps; Stimulation operations
  • Exposure to all completion operations (Spend 50% of time in the field, 50% of time in the office)
  • Identify a safety practice that Fervo may be missing and present how we would implement it
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities for completion ops; Assist in procedure/process development and implementation
  • Work with workover and completion engineers to gain operational experience
  • Collaborate with other Fervo teams to get a better understanding of the company and build additional resources to assist in operations/project management
  • Full understanding of, and active participation in, the HSE Program
  • Understand cross-functional field development roles and requirements
  • Gain risk management skills, including knowledge of Risk Assessment and Management of Change (MOC)

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in Petroleum Engineering or Geothermal/CCSU background-based program
  • Minimum completed Junior year in the programΒ 
  • 3.25 GPA minimum
  • Previous field experience is a plus
  • Strong safety mindset; strong communication skills
  • Exposure/Awareness with industry-leading stimulation modeling software suite (Resfrac, Kinetix, Gohfer, etc.)
  • Experience evaluations completion efficiency, technology applications around stimulation design, and field exposure to different types of completion operations
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time to field locations



Salary Description

$25-$45/hour
