LRE (Leeward Renewable Energy) is a high-growth renewable energy company forging a sustainable future through integrity, innovation, and positive impact. We own and operate 30 large wind, solar, and energy storage projects across the United States, totaling over 3 gigawatts (GW) of generating capacity.

LRE has an ambitious goal of 10GW of operating assets by 2028 and are developing and contracting an increasing pipeline of new projects every year. We take a full-lifecycle approach to our projects, built on a long-term ownership model and a company culture dedicated to our community partners and protecting the environment.

The Legal & Compliance Associate will provide comprehensive support to the legal and compliance team, assisting in the development and management of the company’s Policy Center, supporting corporate governance activities, and performing various administrative and operational tasks to ensure legal and organizational compliance.

Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
1. Policy Center Management:
o Assist in developing, organizing, and maintaining the LRE’s centralized Policy Center.
o Ensure that all company policies are up-to-date, consistent, and accessible to employees.
o Track policy review cycles, expiration dates, and ensure timely updates and revisions.
o Work with cross-functional teams to obtain necessary approvals and communicate policy changes to relevant stakeholders.
o Create and maintain an index or catalog of company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
o Assist the Chief Legal Officer and OGC team create, maintain, and update OGC owned and led policies.
2. Corporate Governance & Contract Management Assistance:
o Provide comprehensive assistance and governance support to the CLO and all Leeward entities, including:
1. Maintaing and distributing board documentation and completing any required post-meeting actions.
2. Coordinate with OGC members on filings or notifications to relevant regulatory authorities, ensuring corporate records are properly updated.
3. Maintain the Authorized Signatory lists for Leeward entities.
o Assist Senior Legal Operations Specialist in the implementation and maintenance of LRE’s contract management system.
o Maintain records related to contracts in process as well as executed contracts.
3. Operational Tasks & Project Coordination:
o Handle administrative tasks such as correspondence, data entry, and organizing team documentation.
o Assist with special projects and research as assigned by OGC leadership.
o Collaborate with various departments to gather data, research, and prepare reports as needed.
o Assist in managing special projects, such as policy rollouts and compliance audits.
o Become proficient in SharePoint to assist in maintaining the OGC’s GRID page and any related technological support.
4. Development Paralegal Support:
o As necessary, provide support to the legal development team with reviewing and coordinating site control and development-related documents, agreements, and memorandums as needed.
o As necessary, assist with creating and maintaining title and survey matrices, organizing files, and conducting initial reviews of title and survey documents to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Qualifications:
o Bachelor’s degree required
o Superior organization, administration, and written and oral communication skills to undertake work at a high level and of a confidential nature
o Confident and professional; comfortable interacting with members of the board of directors
o Intellectually curious; accuracy and attention to detail
o Advanced proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel, Word
o Administrative and document management experience
o Ability to efficiently manage own time and prioritize workflow
o Ability to adapt to the continual roll-out of innovative tools and processes
o Supportive of and able to demonstrate agile and flexible working relationships
