Description

Our Geothermal Resources Team focuses on the below -ground aspects of the geothermal power plant. The team of Reservoir, Petroleum, Drilling, and other related Engineers and Geologists, Geochemists, and Geophysicists collaborate to ensure safe, efficient, and effective management of the geothermal resource used for power production.Β 


Participants in our Geothermal Resources Team Summer Internship program will assist with projects related to exploration, data management, well design and repair, and/or reservoir modeling and sub-surface resource management.


Our full-time, paid 2025 Summer Internship program runs for 13 weeks, from mid-May to mid-August 2025 (adjustment for school start/end is available). This position will be based on-site at our Reno Corporate office and may include travel to nearby geothermal sites.


Responsibilities:

  • Compile and analyze historical data from geothermal fields
  • Maintain and update digital databases
  • Prepare data for presentation
  • Perform research, including background literature and well production data, and organize into project datasets
  • Work with project manager and engineering personnel to assure adequate data evaluation
  • Aid field operations as needed

Requirements

  • Active undergraduate or graduate student in Geology, Geochemistry, Geophysical Engineering, Hydrology, Petroleum Engineering, or other related field.
  • Interest or prior work with renewable energy preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 Suite, SQL Power BI/Tableau (or similar reporting tools). Knowledge in R or Python preferred.
  • Valid drivers license and acceptable motor vehicle record.

Location:

  • On-site position based in Reno, Nevada.
  • If from outside the area, housing stipend available; no further relocation assistance provided.
