Description

Our Engineering Team focused on the above-ground aspects of the geothermal power plant. The team of Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Controls, and Piping Engineers collaborate to ensure safe, efficient, and effective geothermal power production. Participants in our Engineering Team Summer Internship program will assist the Engineering team with projects related to maximizing uptime and production in our existing geothermal power plants. In addition, the Interns may also provide support to optimization of reliability and performance efforts.


Our full-time, paid 2025 Summer Internship program runs for 13 weeks, from mid-May to mid-August 2025 (adjustments for school start/end are available). This position will be based on-site at our Reno Corporate office and may include travel to existing geothermal facilities.


Responsibilities:

  • Compile and analyze historical data from geothermal fields
  • Maintain and update digital databases
  • Prepare data for presentation
  • Perform research, including background literature and well production data, and organize into project datasets
  • Work with project manager and engineering personnel to assure adequate data evaluation
  • Aid field operations as needed

Requirements

  • Active undergraduate or graduate student in any Engineering discipline or other STEM-related field.
  • Interest or prior work with renewable energy preferred.
  • Valid drivers license and acceptable motor vehicle record.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 Suite, SQL Power BI/Tableau (or similar reporting tools). Knowledge in R or Python preferred.
  • Knowledge of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) preferred.

Location:

  • On-site position based in Reno, Nevada.
  • If from outside the assigned work area, housing stipend available; no further travel/relocation assistance provided.
